Digital Mammogram Preparation

You will be given a gown to change into. You should wear comfortable, loose fitting two-piece clothing for your exam as you will be asked to disrobe from the waist up.

Do not wear deodorant, talcum powder, perfume or lotion under your arms or on your breast on the day of the exam. These can appear on the mammogram as calcium spots.

Avoid caffeine the day before and the day of your study

The best time to schedule is two weeks after your menstrual cycle to decrease breast sensitivity

Obtain all prior mammograms and/or ultrasound studies to bring with you on the day of your appointment. The Radiologist will review all prior studies and compare them to your current exam.
